River Cree welcomes Chef Christophe to Sage
River Cree Resort and Casino is pleased to announce Chef Christophe Ithurritze as the Executive Chef for Sage fine dining restaurant.
Ithurritze’s immense talents were developed under the tutelage of celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck. During his tenure with Puck, Ithurritze was part of the team which opened several Spago restaurants in Hollywood, Las Vegas, and Chicago.
Ithurritze was born in the Basque region of France and learned to bake from his mother. At just 17, he earned a culinary degree from the famed L’Ecole les Rocailles in Bayonne. After completing a one-year internship under his mentor Chef Andre Mandion, Ithurritze moved to the U.S. in 1989, and ultimately began his long association with Puck including the position of corporate pastry chef at all five Puck restaurants in Las Vegas.
Amongst Ithurritze’s long list of accomplishments are:
• Top 30 Under 30 – Best entrepreneurs under 30 years old in Las Vegas
• Named Great Chef of America on “Great Chefs” hosted by John Shouppe on Discovery Channel
• Best Upcoming Young Chef in Las Vegas
• Fourth place at 2002 World Pastry Olympics
• Nominated for James Beard House charity event in New York
• Appearance on “Roker on the Road” hosted by Al Roker on The Food Network
Ithurritze creativity shines through when preparing desserts particularly two of his signature dishes – Frozen Nougat with White Peach Sorbet and Crunchy Chocolate Mousse Cake.
The 38-year-old has two children, Sienna and Carson, with his wife Noanie, who also has a background in the food and wine industry.
